DSC Launches Smart Home Program for Homebuilders and Developers

The Model Home and The Community Program provides value kits for model homes and large qualified developments

TORONTO  May 24, 2016 — DSC announces the launch of a new program geared towards homebuilders and developers looking to deliver best-in-class smart home security and technology to homeowners.

The program is comprised of two tiers – The Model Home Program and The Community Program, both featuring home security and automation packages including features such as lighting and temperature control as well as appliance control with Z-Wave smart sockets through DSC’s PowerSeries Neo scalable hybrid wireless platform. The launch of the programs comes at a time of increasing interest in smart home technology by consumers.

“The introduction of these programs provides builders and their security installation partners with convenient access to the latest smart home solutions, which is what savvy home buyers are asking for today,” said Tim Myers, Product Line Director – Intrusion, Tyco Security Products.

A recent market pulse survey from TecHome Builder states that 70% of the builders surveyed in 2015 installed alarm systems in their homes and 77% intend to install them by 2017. The survey also showed that 43% of homebuilders currently install home automation systems and 58% intend to install them by 2017.

The Model Home Program provides homebuilders with a 50 percent reduction on the products purchased to showcase as part of a model home and to demonstrate the type of security systems and associated interactive features available to homeowners. The kit, based on the PowerSeries Neo hybrid technology platform, features a keypad, four door / window contacts, and a motion sensor. The Community Program is designed to provide the security installer and builder with reduced pricing based upon the size of the new home construction project and the number of systems that will be installed. For further details on the DSC’s Community Program, please click here.

Both programs feature DSC’s PowerSeries Neo, a flexible hybrid intrusion platform that offers a wide range of PowerG based devices. PowerSeries Neo leverages a powerful combination of state-of-the-art technologies and PowerG 2-way wireless communication to deliver secure, reliable communications channels, innovative alarm verification solutions and a robust remote service software suite.
